I have been concerned about wildlife, the environment and how I personally affect it since I was very young. The messages from family, friends and school stayed with me throughout life and as an adult I try my best to counterbalance my life with looking after the world around me. I realise that being completely 'green' is near impossible, but I try to go the odd extra mile to help something out and encourage others to do the same.



The usual things go without saying; lights off, four minute showers, recycling/ upcycling etc. However, I also try to concentrate on food products as these have a huge impact on global and local environments. I try to buy fish only from responsibly sourced manufactures, this isn't always possible but it's something to think about. I also have my own chickens for meat and eggs/ buy free range to make the extra step towards destroying the farming of battery hens. Also, every year we grow our own vegetables, without sprays or chemicals, to keep us going through summer and autumn. It is in the winter we fall back on supermarkets for food massively, but are trying our best. I hope to encourage others to do the same and if you want any tips on animal keeping please don't hesitate to contact me.



This is where my promise comes in. To all my readers I promise, using profits from my e-book and paperback sales, I will do my very best I can in helping the environment further than my own garden. I will do this by; helping ensure bee safety in my local area by buying & making more bee housing for wooded/ meadow areas, picking up litter & helping out in volunteering campaigns to build wildlife and insect habitats. I also promise to encourage others to do the same.  

 

Small things make a big difference.



Just as importantly, once a year I make a donation towards yearly chosen charities. The chairties this year has been supporting WWF with tree planting and Organic Farming with Kiva. With these profits we are able to make a bigger donation/ loan together, so thank you all very much.
